\nLotto<\/strong>
\nAs part of our Community Lotto, we recently donated \u20ac500 to our local healthcare workers – this was organised by Friends of Nenagh Hospital who drew five names from staff members in Nenagh Hospital.
\nThe five lucky winners were Jessy George, Mary Minogue, Marjorie Roberts, Deirdre Ryan and Denis Farrell and they each received \u20ac100 voucher for a local business.
\n

\nThe presentation of these vouchers took place last week in the grounds of Nenagh Hospital – the five winners are pictured above with Josie Mackey, Club Treasurer and John Tooher, Club Chairperson.<\/strong>

\nWe have now donated \u20ac2,500 to local charities since relaunching our Club lotto on 29th June last year. The other charities to benefit from these donations were Friends of Nenagh Hospital, Tipperary Search and Rescue Unit, Ormond Special Olympics and Nenagh Lions Club. At the end of the current 10 week cycle we will be donating a further \u20ac500 to our next chosen charity which is the Nenagh Rape Crisis Centre.

\nAs we approach the first anniversary of the lotto relaunch, plans are in place to change the current format of our lotto. We will continue to donate \u20ac500 to a local charity every 10 weeks, however at the end of the current 10 week cycle (which is at the end of July) we will once again introduce weekly lucky dip prizes – this will replace the current Supplementary draw that we currently hold every 10 weeks. So from the lotto draw of July 26th there will be three lucky dip prizes of \u20ac50 each on the weeks when our lotto jackpot is not won.

\nAll players, both adult and juvenile, should pay their membership immediately to be covered under the Player Injury Scheme. Once membership is paid members must set up their own registration on Foireann.ie.

\nCo. Senior League<\/strong>
\nWith all groups back training for the past few weeks, we are now looking forward to matches beginning in the next few weeks. First up will be the Co. Senior League where we have been drawn in a group with Roscrea, JK Brackens and Thurles Sarsfields. Our first game is due to take place against Roscrea on Sunday 13th June. Keep a check on the website and social media for fixtures.

\nCommunity Response<\/strong>
\nAs restrictions are gradually being eased it is time once again to stand down our Community response group. We wish to thank all those who have volunteered their time over the past 15 months to help out those that needed it during Covid restrictions and we especially thank Bartley Ryan for his time in co-ordinating this.

\nScott O\u2019Brien<\/strong>
\nFormer Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g player Scott O’Brien continues to maintain his and Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g’s international sporting reputation. Scott, who is currently on a golfing scholarship in the US, was a primary player in his colleges golf team that brought home first prize in a USA national competition last month. No doubt a major contribution to Scott’s golfing talent were the ball striking skills he honed on the hurling fields where he played both in goals and in the forward line for Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g up to the minor grade.
\nCongrats to Scott and we wish him further success in his future sporting endeavours.

\nHurling Wall Fundraising<\/strong>
\nThe fundraising for the new Hurling Wall and Astro Turf pitch will continue over the coming weeks as we try to meet our target for this phase of the project. We sincerely thank all of those who have donated to date and also thanks to our team of members who have worked hard over the past number of weeks organising these donations.
\nWith the work due to commence on the wall in the coming weeks, we ask that you please continue to make your donations, all donations are greatly appreciated.

\nThe response from families to our fundraising initiative around the club development has been hugely positive and is going really well, everyone involved in the project have been genuinely humbled and impressed with the level positivity and eagerness of families to get behind and support the club on this significant journey. \nThe lotto has always been one of our main fundraisers and with our current club developments it is of vital importance to us now that everyone continues to row in behind our lotto and we continue to increase the Nenagh Eire Og online club lotto subscriptions. Details of how to complete this process have been shared via the various juvenile WhatsApp groups. Your co operation in getting these registrations complete as soon as possible is greatly appreciated and will be required in order to complete your childs’ Covid self certification for return to play.
\nFamilies have the option to pay membership at training which is now back for the past number weeks.
\nMembership must be paid by May 31st to ensure that your child is covered by insurance. Paying membership at training is the preferred option for the juvenile club as the money goes directly into the juvenile arm of the club to pay the costs of running the juvenile club. For Covid reasons we ask that membership money be put into an envelope, family details written thereon and handed to the lead coach at the training session.

\nReturn To Play<\/strong>
\nWe would ask all parents\/guardians to observe and co-operate with all the Covid protocols that will be in place in order to ensure a safe training environment for your children and family. Training slots – days and times have been issued on the various WhatsApp groups, welcome back and enjoy!
\nPlease encourage the boys to practice when they can over the next few weeks. There are a huge number of boys nationally that struggled for motivation in all sports over the past few months and we are very conscious of this and will be very mindful of the boys. We hope every available boy will return and hope to gain extra boys as well.
\nWe hope to link in with some of the NEO senior hurling team in the coming weeks and leverage their experience from when they were juvenile hurlers and how they developed their skills and passion for our games.
\nIt’s a very exciting time for the club with huge developments taking place in the field at present. The physical changes around the club grounds were visible to all who returned to play last week. These changes are the initial stages of the development work and indeed the footprint of the new hurling wall and astro pitch are clear to be seen. We will all be looking on in eager anticipation of the progress that will be made over the coming weeks. Remember to transfer your donations and let your funding representative know you have done so for receipt issuing purposes.

\n\u00c9ire \u00d3gres 2021 \/ N\u00c9\u00d3 Nursery – Boys & Girls<\/strong>
\nNenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3gres camp ’21 got underway in brilliant style on Saturday morning as the sun came out to welcome all the new \u00c9ire \u00d3gres to MacDonagh Park. The children enjoyed lots of games and skill challenges at the many fun \u00d3gres challenge stations.
\nThanks to Niall for organising this years camp and also to everyone who assisted in ensuring a safe and fun environment for the children to enjoy themselves. Thanks to EBS Nenagh, New Mortgages for their kind sponsorship.
\nWe can’t wait to have all the children back next week for more fun and games. Anyone wishing to join next week are more than welcome. Parents must remain for the hour. Any boy born in 2016 that wishes to attend needs to contact Erica on 0868774496. Any girl born in 2015 or if they have turned 5 already can contact Paul on 0864692641.

\nThe Under 7 boys continue to train Saturday mornings from 10-11am. There are over 30 boys training which is great to see. We are seeing lots of new faces and new boys are always welcome.
\nUnder 9<\/strong>
\nUnder 9 hurling training continues Tuesday 6-7pm and Saturday 10-11am with football training also now started on Wednesday 5.30-6.30pm. We continue to have over 30 at each training. Please keep up the good attendance as matches will start in a few weeks time. Great to also see new boys joining who are more than welcome.
\nUnder 11<\/strong>
\nThe Under 11 boys hurling training each Tuesday and Friday at 6.00pm. Gaelic Football training is at 5.30pm on Wednesdays. New players always welcome for either code.
\nUnder 13 <\/strong>
\nUnder 13 training continues Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday evenings.
\nUnder 15<\/strong>
\nTraining continues for the Under 15 boys. Hurling on Tuesday and Thursday while football has started on Saturdays with first football game of the year in a couple of weeks. Great to have some of our senior hurlers helping out with training on Tuesdays.
\nUnder 17<\/strong>
\nThe Under 17 boys training continues each Monday Wednesday Friday and Saturday morning. We would also be delighted to welcome back any former of this squad who would like to hurl or play football. There has been a very good response from our squad. Already this group had shown the determination and commitment of last year with four high tempo sessions.
\nCongrats to Taurai, Sam and Mason on making the Tipperary Under 17 panel. Hard luck to the others , it was a great achievement to represent Nenagh at that stage.

\n\u00d3gres started on Saturday with a huge turn out of girls. Taking place in the main field under glorious sunshine, over 30 girls came along to the first Saturday of four planned from 10.00 till 11.00. Thanks to all the parents and u14 girls for helping with the session at the weekend. Both boys and girls are welcome. Parents must remain for the hour. Any girl born in 2015 or if they have turned 5 already can contact Paul on 0864692641. Please complete the online health questionnaire each Saturday morning for your child before taking part. You muct register on www.foireann.ie, choose Camogie as the association, then Tipperary, Nenagh. From here you can complete the questionnaire and add your child to under 6.

\nSenior\/minor Camogie training continues on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sunday mornings. Our squad are working very well and training is going very well. The improvement in our squad over two years had been excellent. Any former player looking to come back and train are most welcome.
\nCaroline Browne and Sarah Quigley represented Tipperary at the weekend in the Division 2 league. They played Kerry in The Ragg and Kerry came out on top winning by 8 points.
