Commiserations go to Barry Heffernan, Jake Morris and the Tipperary senior hurlers who were defeated in the opening round of the Munster championship on Sunday by Limerick. Jake scored 1-1 while Barry had a fine game in the backs until having to retire early due to injury.<\/p>\n

In light of the government\u2019s decision to move the country back to level 5, the club has re-activated our COVID-19 Community Response Team<\/p>\n

If any member of our community requires support during these difficult times, prescriptions and groceries collected or if we can support you in any way please contact our Community Covid Officer, Bartley Ryan, on 086 735 8359 and a member of our club will be only too delighted to come to your assistance.<\/p>\n

Due to the regulations and guidelines outlined for Level 5 of the national Covid response, we at Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g are suspending our weekly lotto until December 7th at the earliest. Training for this group will continue every Friday evening under the new guidelines of non-contact and in groups of fifteen. Anyone who wishes to train is more than welcome, it is completely optional for the boys. Training will consist of skills work and fun activities. training has moved to Nenagh College on Friday nights from 7pm to 8pm. Please keep encouraging the boys to pick up the hurley at home and practice daily.<\/p>\n

The juvenile club ran a Halloween night competition whereby the boys sent in photos of themselves in their Halloween costumes, there were some brilliant costumes and efforts made, scarily good in fact. Everyone who sent in a photo was entered into a draw within their group to win one of the new Nenagh \u00c9ire \u00d3g hats. Congratulations<\/span> to the lucky winners. Well done to everyone who sent in their Halloween costume photo, each entry was brilliant. <\/b><\/div>\n

One of the greatest club members of all time, Ger Gavin, is going to keep himself busy during the lockdown with outstanding books written by two superb local writers Damien Lawlor (Kilruane MacDonaghs) and Shane Brophy (Lorrha & Dorrha). Damien’s book, When the World Stops Watching, focuses on the experiences of sportspeople after they finish their sporting careers while Shane’s book, Chiselled from Ash, is the autobiography of hurling legend Len Gaynor. Another great sportsbook recently published is Game of my Life by Tipp FM commentator Stephen Gleeson. Here Stephen chats to 35 Tipperary players, from Theo English to Michael Cleary, about the greatest game they played in.<\/p>\n
