Senior Hurling<\/h2>\n

Our senior hurlers face Clonoulty Rossmore in round two of the FBD Insurance county championship on Sunday evening at 7pm in Semple Stadium. This game will be streamed live by the county board. After defeating Holycross Ballycahill in their opening game the lads will be anxious to keep their good form going and we wish them the very best of luck.<\/p>\n

Our junior-A hurlers opened their North Tipperary campaign with a solid 2-16 to 1-13 win over Kilruane MacDonaghs in Borrisokane on Saturday evening last with Donnacha Quinn and Cian O’Farrell bagging the Nenagh goals. The now play Knockshegowna on Saturday evening next and this game is expected to take place in Gardiner Park, Borrisokane.<\/p>\n

Hard luck to our minors who were beaten by Roscrea on Wednesday evening last, 1-19 to 3-9, in the championship. Leon Kennedy, Ben West and Cian Galvin bagged the Nenagh goals in what was a much-improved performance from their previous outing. The lads now play Toomevara in the quarter-final in MacDonagh Park, Cloughjordan on Wednesday evening at 7:15pm.<\/p>\n

FOR THE ATTENTION OF EACH GROUP IN THE CLUB<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is vitally important at this stage in our battle against Covid 19 that each group refocus their efforts and raise their standards again. As we have seen in other places, we are always at risk of the club being closed down and exiting all competitions, and, as is happening nationwide, some people here are letting their guard down. While we cannot eliminate all risks as people must go to work etc, it’s what we can control that we now must work harder at.<\/p>\n

If you’re not part of a training group or required to be there, you should not be at the training session. Do not interact with groups if you have no reason to be there.<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

Thanks to our excellent Covid supervisors, sanitiser is present at all training sessions. Use it on entry to and exit from training and matches. You should not need to be asked as happens now.<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

If you wish to go to house parties don’t come to the field. If you wish to come to the field, don’t go to house parties. Very simple.<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

Parents and supporters need to be reminded to maintain social distancing at matches.<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

Your cooperation is of vital importance to the club and our community. Please do not be found wanting in this regard.<\/p>\n

Following the recent permanent breakdown of our old mower, the club have invested in a new one which arrived in MacDonagh Park on Wednesday morning last. Already known as Big Bertha, the new machine, a Ransome Mower, is hoped to meet our needs for many years to come but will still require a lot of hard work from our volunteers in order to pay for it and so we are asking all of our members, supporters and players to join our online lotto<\/a> which will go towards the repayment of the loan. <\/p>\n

Brian McDonnell has once again provided an insightful article, using statistics, to demonstrate how the game of hurling has evolved from the 1989 All-Ireland final between Tipperary and Antrim to last year’s encounter between ourselves and Kilkenny. <\/p>\n
