Liam addressed the assembled group and told them and encouraged them to give their best at their present level and to think in terms of playing senior hurling for the club. He stressed that the club was backing the scheme and providing funds to ensure that they would not lack whatever was needed. The arrival of chairman Jim Minogue and secretary Joe Hanrahan confirmed the club’s commitment to the scheme.

This was followed by an exercise session in the main hall under Martin O’Grady and John Kennedy conducted a session in the hurling alley. The group met for more of the same on Friday, Feb 29th.

On Saturday, March 8th the group visited UL coaching and fitness centre, where each participant was assessed and given an individual programme to follow.
