Hurling Alley

USING THE HURLING ALLEY

 

Please ensure that Lights are turned off and the main alley door is locked when leaving.

Respect the facility.

40 min of drills with time built in to rest .

WARM UP DRILLS

CATCHING A HIGH BALL: Strike ball out of hand high on back wall and catch it on the return.

2 min Quick striking ( 30 second intverals ) off left and right side.

CATCHING A LOW HOPPING BALL: Strike ball out of hand low on the back wall and catch it on the return.

2 min Quick striking ( 30 second intverals ) off left and right side.

DROP SHOT: Drop ball from hand strike it after the bounce control the returning ball from the back wall with one touch on the hurley and strike the drop shot again keeping the strike low off the back wall.

2 min Quick striking ( 30 second intverals ) off left and right side.

MAIN DRILLS

ONE TOUCH STRIKE OUT OF THE HAND:
Strike ball out of hand high on the wall , control the returning ball with one touch on the hurley ( kill ball ) and catch.

5min Quick striking ( 30 second intverals ) off left and right side.

ONE TOUCH STRIKE OFF HURLEY NO CATCHING: Strike ball off hurley high on wall. Control the returning ball with one touch on the hurley ( kill ball ) and then strike ball off hurley again.

5min Quick striking ( 30 second intverals ) off left and right side.

BATTING: Strike ball out of hand high on the wall batting the returning overhead - try to pick a target to bat the ball to when you have gotten used to the drill.

2 min

CONTROL LOW HOPPING BALL: Strike ball out of hand low on the wall control the low hopping ball with one touch on the hurley and catch and strike again.

5min Quick striking ( 30 second intverals ) off left and right side.

CONTROL LOW HOPPING BALL, STRIKE OFF HURLEY NOT CATCHING: Strike ball out of hand low on the wall, control the low hopping ball with one touch on the hurley and then strike ball off hurley again

5min Quick striking ( 30 second intverals ) off left and right side.

FIRST TIME LOW PULL: Strike ball low on the wall, pull on the returning ball 1st time, striking back low on the wall. Repeat this as often as possible in the time allotted. Keep the ball low everytime

3min Quick striking off left and right side.

DOUBLING OFF BACK WALL: Strike ball hard and low on front wall and wait for the ball to return off the back wall. Double on the returning ball passing you continue to doubleonevery ball and keep ball low on the frontwall .

4 min Quick striking off left and right side.

SHORT GRIP QUICK STRIKE: Strike ball hardout of hand on front wall collect the ball coming off back wall solo for three steps and quick strike ball using short grip.

4 min Quick striking off left and right side.
