Our senior hurlers exited the Tipperary Water county league at the semi-final stage on Friday evening last in Borrisoleigh following a 2-30 to 1-19 loss to Drom & Inch. The focus for the lads will now shift to the county championship which is not expected to recommence until after Tipperary’s interest in the All-Ireland campaign ends.
Our junior hurlers will play Borris-Ileigh on Friday evening at 7pm in the next round of the North Tipperary championship. On Thursday evening last our under-14s overcame the challenge of Ballina in MacDonagh Park on a 1-9 to 0-2 scoreline with Josh McLoughlin getting the all important goal midway through the second half when he brilliantly fetched the ball from the heavens turned and unleashed a bullet to the back of the net. Indeed both sets of players were an absolute credit to their respective clubs afterwards with the sportsmanship on display as they went out of their way to shake hands with each other. Well done to both panels. We wish Filip McIntyre a speedy recovery from a knock he picked up in the match.
