Great progress has been made over the past number of weeks on the development of our new full sized pitch. This is a huge project and will take a number of weeks before it is complete. The costs unfortunately are huge too and we are continuing to seek funding for this phase of the project.
Our membership packages are still open and we thank everyone who has contributed to this to date. If you would like to avail of any of these packages, please contact any club officer or committee member for more information. Donations can also be made electronically – bank details below.
Please be sure to include your details if transferring money to this dedicated fundraising account and notify Anne Kennedy or John Tooher to advise of the transfer in order for receipts and membership data to be updated.

Please also note that if these payment options are not suitable for you at the moment but you would like to avail of this later in the year, we will be keeping this open over the coming months.
Club Development – Phase II Funding

Under 9s who played Silvermines
Two teams from our Under 11 hurlers travelled down to Cork last Saturday to play in the Dermot Naughton Tournament in Newtownshandrum. Four clubs were involved, the hosts, Nenagh Éire Óg, Michael Cusack’s of Galway and Sixmilebridge of Clare. There was a great standard of hurling on show. Each club had two even teams. Newtownshandrum won the cup for the first time and Michael Cusack’s the shield. While the boys didn’t bring home any silverware they played their hearts out winning and losing with both teams playing four matches over the day. One team finished second in their group and the other third. Our thanks to the hosts for inviting us and to all the parents for travelling to support the boys. Next week the boys travel to Kilkenny to play O’Loughlin Gaels.
Training continues on Wednesday of this week for hurling and football. New players born in 2011 and 2012 welcome to come along and give it a try. Contact 0874086439 for more details.

Our Under 13C panel played Newport in Ballinahinch last week and just like the older Under 13 boys the night before this young side put in a very disciplined performance to win out and place themselves into a semi- final against Shannon Rovers. Unfortunately the boys came up short in this semi final and Shannon Rovers ran out winners.
Training Friday at 6.30.
Training continues Tuesday and Thursday from 7-8 pm, championship knock out is next week.
Our Under 17s have had a busy week. They had a very successful outing on Wednesday night last in Ballina in the North quarter final against Newport in teh quarter final. Nenagh racked up an impressive score of 3-24 and conceded just 1-10 with the goals coming from Sam O’ Farrell, Jake Houlihan and Aodhan O Connor.
This win set up a semi final against old rivals Toomevara on Monday evening. In a tense game throughout the boys ran out winners by 3 points on a scoreline of 2 -15 to 1 – 15. – the goals coming from Jack McLoughlin and Jake Houlihan. They now play Roscrea in the North Final – fixture for this TBC

Our Seniors faced the challenge of Annacarty at home on Saturday in the Senior Championship. It was a very close game with point for point by each team in the first half and Annacarty just ahead on 8 points to 7 at halftime.
The second half saw Annacarty pull away by 6 points but Nenagh fought back to level the game. A great tally from Grace O’Brien who scored 1.08 and points from Zoey Gratton,
Kerrie Howard, Caroline Browne, and Michelle Collins showed the potential this young Nenagh team has.
The final score was 1.12 to 1.12.

It was a case of “what might have been” for our minors who bowed out of the minor championship on Thursday evening in Gortnahoe. The girls made a great start, scoring 1-3 in the first 15 minutes. However, the scores dried up for Nenagh thereafter while Gortnahoe took their opportunities, going on to win by 4 points.
The management team would like to thank all the girls for their efforts over the past few weeks. After a couple of years with no minor team, it was important for the club to field a team again and the girls did us proud.
Well done to Laura Nagle who finished up her season with the Tipperary U16B team with a match against Cork at the weekend.

The committee would like to express their thanks to Paddy Devenny, Eamonn Murtagh, Louise Carmody, Maggie Hackett, Mike Hughs, Donal Flannery & Eimear Grennan.
